Memory Matters

It’s not what you think.

So, I was at a restaurant with my daughter for Father’s day.  I look to my left and seen an old co-worker on a table, just two tables from me.

I instantly recognized him, don’t know if he recognized me right away.  Mind you, I had not seen this person in over 26 years. The point is not, that I remembered him, but, rather, what a person may feel like, when they are remembered.

Significance and Importance is just two words which come to mind.

The Wind.

John 3:8

Invisible and Unpredictable.

The Scriptures speak of the Holy Spirit as analogous to the wind, as well as the state of those born of the Spirit. In the same way, our lives are not ours anymore.

We take on a certain amount of unpredictability in the visible and the invisible realms. This is the ‘norm’ for those who are born again.

Have you ever seen a strong gust of wind, evidenced through it’s effect on the surrounding trees? I seen it today, in my quite time with the Lord.

Well, let’s take it up a few notches, you see, when I was a child, I was fortunate enough to have survived a Typhoon.

It’s just a different name for a Hurricane, these storms can reach the same or more, in it’s magnitude and wind velocity.

I remembered my dad carrying me on his shoulders, knocking on our neighbors door, to seek shelter.

So it is with the Holy Spirit, things in the visible as well as the invisible realms, are impacted with full force, to those believe.

Solitude

Based on Galatians 5:25

Listening to the Lord in quite times.
So, today, I had to gone to one of my favorite solitary places.  I’m not one of

these super spiritual people, mind you.

But, I do believe in the scriptures,

that, at least warrants this blog.

So, just there, talking with God(praying) and listening to him. The lesson that I’ve learned, from spending this quite time with him, was, to make the right choices if possible and to make the most of the time, that was given to me, as a single person.

He reminded me that my status can change in a heartbeat, possibly changing everything.

This can be very positive, yet, can also carry with it some limitations. It just depends on what your willing to put into it ‘in the Spirit and in Truth’ and how your circumstance plays out, in God’s grand scheme of things.

I know, having been married, have two young adults, and stricken with a ‘curve ball’ in life, so to speak.

Sometimes, there is only so much you can do, with time constaints and all the commitments you choose to invovle yourself with.

Thank God for the Lord Jesus Christ, as the Apostle Paul, says many times. The Lord helps us, in everyone of our circumstances, whether we are single, or have transitioned into a relationship.

Just a Touch.

“Just a touch of his hand, and you’ll be healed.”

Based on Isaiah 53:5

So, the late 80’s music seen, in the west coast was vibrant and flourishing. Years before that, grew up and was playing gigs for parties in Hollywood Ca. In this Backdrop, I came to know Christ. My then, youth pastor invited me to attend a concert. That night at the concert, I gave my life to Jesus Christ. My life was never the same, I realized for the

first time, how wretched of a sinner I was, and needed his saving grace. Since then, God has bestowed every unimaginable blessings

in my life. This, through every circumstance in my life. This is a short version of my testimony to his saving grace. The journey never ends.

Glory be to God.

Love

1 Corinthians 13:1-8

__________________________

“Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person’s ultimate good as far as it can be obtained”.

C.S. Lewis

“Physical intimacy, no matter how long it last, pales in comparison, to

the friendship of two like souls, that last a lifetime. If you happened to have attained  both,  it’s a gift of God”.

JAmanse 2017

The greatest act of love, is Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

Devotion or Selfish Ambition

Is what we do, out of Devotion, or is out of Selfish Ambition? I must admit to you, this is a difficult issue for me. I am of course reffering to Devotion to God in everything that we do. Sometimes as Christians, we can ‘say’ and ‘do’ all the ‘right’ things and just engage ‘cruise control’ so to speak. Unfortunately, our good intentions tend to morph into something that was never intended for us.

Let me give an example, from a real event that happened in my life. So, at one point I started learning programning languages for computers. At first it was perplexing to me, as to where this idea came from, since having had no prior interest in this field.

Then as I learned the basics, to the advanced, concepts of coding, it dawned on me. All this knowledge was coming from the Lord, because honestly, there were times were it felt like, certain ideas and concepts were way ‘over my head’. With God’s help, I was able to comprehend the most complex problems.  Definitely very thankful and gave glory to God.

Especially, when a program worked. There were numerous times that, programs ran well, only by the grace of the God.  It was such a humbling experience. Here’s where it gets tricky. So, all this advanced knowledge was being poured into me. Dove right into Encryption and it’s concepts, was able to Encrypt and Decrypt files within my own computer.  Had done a lot of other things, such as programming basic functions, templates and class types as well.

The point being, that, knowledge, understanding, and true Wisdom are good, only when used to glorify God the father alone. Our flesh will make a mockery of any ‘good intention’. When that happens. God is no longer receiving the glory and one crosses over into Selfish Ambition’.

Ecouragement

To my dear friend.

Romans 12:8. And 15:4

8.  if it is to Encourage , then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

4 . For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the Encouragement they provide we might have hope.
